In the March, 2002 St. George Alumni Newsletter,  Brother Tom highlighted the following:

"As mentioned in the March, 2002 alumni newsletter, Vincent Druding, son of Vince Druding, Class of 1952, was about to begin his first day on the job in lower Manhattan near the World Trade Center on September 11. His first-person account, "Ground Zero - A Journal," was published in the December, 2001 issue of First Things. You can read that account at 'First Things'."

Dear Board Member:

Please keep the repose of the soul of Fred Krammen '34 in your prayers.   Bill Kearns alerted me to his death and the funeral arrangements.  Wake tonight, Friday.  Funeral tomorrow, Saturday.

I'm sorry to say I did not know Fred, but Bill tells me he was a long time (approximately 30-year) Board Member and that for years he was the "Gate Keeper" at the banquet - he collected the tickets at the door.

I regret that I am out of town and will not be able to attend the funeral.  I will send Mrs. Krammen a card from the Alumni Association.

Here are the arrangements as published in the Chicago Tribune ...
